Teddy – 1 year old male Yorkshire Terrier

August 11, 2010 on 2:13 pm | In Dog Breeds for Adoption | No Comments

Teddy is a very handsome 1 year old Yorkshire Terrier cross boy. He came into us from the pound. He is a very sweet boy who was nervous at first in his foster but soon found his feet as he was allowed to get to know the people around him at his own pace. Once he knows you, he is your best friend and is incredibly loving.

Teddy is great with children, other dogs and with careful introductions, cats. Although he can be defensive of his food and treats when around other dogs, this can be worked on with time, patience and positive training methods. He would benefit from further training.

Teddy has been neutered and vaccinated. He is currently on foster in West Yorkshire but we home across the UK

Noodle – 16 week old male Rhodesian Ridgeback cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier

August 11, 2010 on 2:13 pm | In Dog Breeds for Adoption | No Comments

Noodle is a very sweet 16 week Rhodesian Ridgeback cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier. He was taken from an unsuitable home by a rescue supporter. Our understanding is that he was kept in a crate the majority of the time, wasn’t fed very often and had little human contact.

However despite a poor start to life he is a very friendly pup. He is very handsome and typically playful. His fosterer says that he really is a noodle as he is not the most intelligent dog in the world!! However he does have some manners plus his basic commands. He is also crate trained. Noodle loves to run around like a “Looney” and he is both happy to play on his own or with other dogs.

His house training needs a little work as when Noodle gets nervous, anxious or excited he tends to leak a little. But he has already shown a vast improvement and it is more than likely that he simply will grow out of it when he feels settled and secure. Noodle can still be a bit “puppy nippy” with people though he knows the word “no” and doesn’t need telling twice.

He loves his food which could prove very useful to help further his training! He is not food aggressive but his fosterer does feed him separately to her own dogs simply because she thinks he might eat all their food up as well as his own!

Noodle is good with other dogs and children but he hasn’t been cat tested. He is on foster in Redditch but we home across the UK.

Chico – 2 year old male Akita

August 11, 2010 on 2:13 pm | In Dog Breeds for Adoption | No Comments

Chico is a superb 2 year old Akita. Chico lost one of his legs in a road traffic accident but copes with his disability well and is a strong boy. He is quite a laid back dog and I’m told he is very sweet! He is unsure around small dogs but is fine with dogs closer to his size. Chico has been neutered, vaccinated and is currently in South Wales but we home across the UK.

We currently have limited information on Chico as he is still in kennels waiting for a foster and/or a forever home. If you could offer him a foster home, please fill out a foster application; www.friendsoftheanimalsrct.org.uk/foster.html. If you could offer Chico a forever home, please follow the usual procedures.

Bently – 3 year old male Cross-Breed

August 11, 2010 on 2:13 pm | In Dog Breeds for Adoption | No Comments

Bently is a lovable 3 year old medium sized cross-breed boy who is looking for a new home through no fault of his own. His owner is expecting a new baby and has made the heartbreaking decision to let him go. She has had him since he was 8 weeks old. Bently attended puppy training classes when he was younger, he is good with other dogs and is also fine off lead.

He enjoys going to the beach as he has a real love for water and will even tolerate the odd bath! Bently can be left for up to 7 hours per day without any problems, he currently has freedom in the house but will settle downstairs in a dog bed over night. Oh and just one other thing that makes Bently so fantastic – he lives with a cat! Bently will make a fantastic and devoted companion.

Bently is neutered and microchipped but will need to re start his vaccinations. Can you give this poor boy another chance in a happy and loving home?
