Dog Breeds List

If you were stopped on the street and asked to name as many dog breeds that you could think of, how many could you come up with? Worldwide we know of many popular types as the American Bulldog, Sled dogs and Terriers, but what about those breeds which are less known like the Basenji, or the Catahoula Leopard Dog? There are dog breeds all over the world and in this book we hope to educate all readers on just how wonderful they are as pets, hard working and dependable they really are, along with much more!

From the start in history of this amazing animal to current times, the small & large, the popular & rare, even those you may have never known even existed.

The breed New Guinea Singing Dog has been around for thousands of years and seems to be the earliest recorded breed known to man. Those however like the Labrador Retriever or the German Sheppard only have a short time span in comparison with a record dating back to only the past few hundred years. During the beginning of dog breeding many dogs were bred for their functioning traits like behavior, hunting and guarding though it was not until recently that dogs were bred for their distinctive features along with appearance. And as since we have moved into more modern times along with a need for more breeds the selection of a dog type is almost endless.
